The Busy Butchers

Willie, Molly and I had a wonderful and productive weekend.

Friday night, we recovered our dining room chairs. I have been searching for material for MONTHS, and finally on Friday, I found exactly what I wanted. Because our main living space is completely open, we needed something that coordinated with every room. I was so happy to find out the fabric at 50% off at Jo-Ann Fabrics. SCORE! It was a fairly simple project. Nothing a pair of scissors and a staple gun can't fix! This $20.00 transformation has inspired me to work on some other projects around the house. Watch out Willie!

Let me know what you think!

BEFORE                                AFTER

I love the outcome! I stare at them every time we walk into the house! I'm hoping the new fabric will help hide some stains! I have a feeling once Molly is up and mobile, she will have a field day on things her level!

On Saturday morning, Willie, Molly and I ventured out to a consignment sale at a church in downtown Raleigh. We met up with our friends Courtney and her sweet baby boy Davis and Sara and Molly's future groom, William. Because the girls had arrived ahead of my crew, they already piddled through the girl's section and selected a few things they liked for Molly. We scored 2 great outfits for her. Too bad I'm too lazy to go upstairs and take pictures, so I'll make a whole new blog about the many new outfits of Molly Anne Butcher.

After our short visit at the consignment sale, we parted ways with the girls, and my little family headed over to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. The Nature Research Center (NRC) opened last weekend and we were excited to visit. There were TONS of people there. We waited in line to get on the elevator to head up to the 2nd floor where we could cross over Salisbury Street to the next building. As we loaded onto the elevator, we realized we were hopping on with the Governor, her son and darling grandchildren.

The NRC was amazing! Our trip was cut WAY short-- probably 30 minutes in, when the emergency alarm went off. We were on the 3rd floor, with a sleeping baby in a stroller. I unclicked the car seat and carried Molly down while Willie carried the folded stroller and diaper bag. It may not sound so bad, except for the part where we are heading down 3 flights of stairs with a few hundred people. Once we were outside, firetrucks started to arrive. I called Sara to tell her about our adventure and we laughed at the thought of Willie trying to carry 3 strollers down 3 flights of stairs if they had decided to join us at the museum. We decided to head back to our car and head home and try again another day. We still never found out what happened.

Here are a few pictures I was able to take of our visit!

We were kinda lazy Sunday morning and decided to attend church via live feed from C3's website. After "church" we finally got ready for the day. We try to visit Willie's grandparents atleast once a week-- so we loaded up the car and Mollys diaper bag of all essentials and made our way to Cary, picking Sarah up along the way! They adore Molly and are wonderful to us! Just this week alone G-Ma had 4 sweet outfits for Miss Molly. I will share those soon!

We ended our weekend with a wonderful dinner at my parents house. It's great to have a mama's meal every once in a while. My brother Sam came over to eat too!  We enjoyed our delicious meal of pork strips and fried rice followed by the yummiest peach buckle with vanilla ice cream. Molly may or may not of had a tiny bite of icecream. The gym is begging me to come visit. My goal is atleast 3 times this week. We will see!

It's suppose to be 90 degrees by Wednesday!
Stay cool everybody :-)

It's Friday!

I've been quite slack with updating my blog lately. I can honestly say it hasn't been because I've been busy. It's been a rather mellow week. Can you imagine how much laundry, dishes, and cleaning I could get done on a week like this? You would think a lot -- NOPE!

Saturday, we participated in our neighborhood yard sale. We sold quite a bit of things we were going to donate anyway, so it was great to make some extra $$! And in doing so, we cleared out a lot of our garage. One day we may be able to actually park in there again!

Molly and I did venture out with Mom (Mimi), Robin, Cooper and Wyatt on Wednesday. We spent the day at Southpoint Mall in Durham, where we shopped (or browsed) and had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. It's so much fun spending time with the boys and seeing how much they grow! Molly loves to laugh at Cooper. And he ADORES her. Wyatt is still a little young to really notice her much. He will randomly scream Mawweee and laugh hysterically.

Here are a few pictures from this past week and weekend.

Molly's eyes make me laugh!

Wyatt climbed into Mollys car seat at The Cheesecake Factory!
I think he sometimes gets jealous he's no longer the baby.

Happy Friday everyone! Hope this weekend is all you want it to be!

For the love of feet!

Molly has recently found her feet! She is mesmerized by them. Sometimes in the morning she will grab hold of them while sitting in her bouncy seat and will hold them for a LONG time! It's just too cute not to share.
All the pictures below are from different days! (even the 2 onesie pics)
Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Easter Blessings

What a wonderful Easter!!
I think this one is for the books as my favorite Easter ever.
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and Easter Holiday!

We started off on Saturday night with church and it was one of the most touching services I've experienced. So many wonderful testimonies on how people have overcome some of the most heartbreaking battles throughout life. I'm so blessed for the life I have and the opportunities I am given because of the sacrifices made by Jesus. Thank you, Jesus!

We started Sunday at home and worked our way to my parents house to celebrate with them, my brother, sister, brother and law and nephews and our friend/neighbor Song. We had a wonderful meal of fried chicken, ham, cabbage, corn pudding, and so many other wonderful foods!

I used a recipe that my friend Courtney blogged about last week!
Jiffy corn muffins with homemade strawberry butter.
She was the guinea pig, but I must say, it's delicious!

Get ready! There are a TON of pictures!

Molly is all smiles in the morning!

Happy 1st Easter Molly Anne!

Easter Egg Hunt!

Sitting with Song before our walk

After the Easter egg hunt, we walked down to the falls! It's so nice there!
The weather was perfect for a stroll. And it wasn't a bad idea to burn off some of those calories from our delicious lunch!

Napping on our walk!

Molly was zonked after our fun filled day!
If you could only hear her while she was sleeping!
She kept making loud sighing sounds. It was so sweet. I can already tell you, I'm going to miss the moments like this once she's older.
She's growing SO fast!

We ended the night with a few stories from her new book.
A perfect ending to a wonderful day!
