Willie, Molly and I had a wonderful and productive weekend.
Friday night, we recovered our dining room chairs. I have been searching for material for MONTHS, and finally on Friday, I found exactly what I wanted. Because our main living space is completely open, we needed something that coordinated with every room. I was so happy to find out the fabric at 50% off at Jo-Ann Fabrics. SCORE! It was a fairly simple project. Nothing a pair of scissors and a staple gun can't fix! This $20.00 transformation has inspired me to work on some other projects around the house. Watch out Willie!
Let me know what you think!
BEFORE AFTER
I love the outcome! I stare at them every time we walk into the house! I'm hoping the new fabric will help hide some stains! I have a feeling once Molly is up and mobile, she will have a field day on things her level!
On Saturday morning, Willie, Molly and I ventured out to a consignment sale at a church in downtown Raleigh. We met up with our friends Courtney and her sweet baby boy Davis and Sara and Molly's future groom, William. Because the girls had arrived ahead of my crew, they already piddled through the girl's section and selected a few things they liked for Molly. We scored 2 great outfits for her. Too bad I'm too lazy to go upstairs and take pictures, so I'll make a whole new blog about the many new outfits of Molly Anne Butcher.
After our short visit at the consignment sale, we parted ways with the girls, and my little family headed over to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. The Nature Research Center (NRC) opened last weekend and we were excited to visit. There were TONS of people there. We waited in line to get on the elevator to head up to the 2nd floor where we could cross over Salisbury Street to the next building. As we loaded onto the elevator, we realized we were hopping on with the Governor, her son and darling grandchildren.
The NRC was amazing! Our trip was cut WAY short-- probably 30 minutes in, when the emergency alarm went off. We were on the 3rd floor, with a sleeping baby in a stroller. I unclicked the car seat and carried Molly down while Willie carried the folded stroller and diaper bag. It may not sound so bad, except for the part where we are heading down 3 flights of stairs with a few hundred people. Once we were outside, firetrucks started to arrive. I called Sara to tell her about our adventure and we laughed at the thought of Willie trying to carry 3 strollers down 3 flights of stairs if they had decided to join us at the museum. We decided to head back to our car and head home and try again another day. We still never found out what happened.
Here are a few pictures I was able to take of our visit!
We were kinda lazy Sunday morning and decided to attend church via live feed from C3's website. After "church" we finally got ready for the day. We try to visit Willie's grandparents atleast once a week-- so we loaded up the car and Mollys diaper bag of all essentials and made our way to Cary, picking Sarah up along the way! They adore Molly and are wonderful to us! Just this week alone G-Ma had 4 sweet outfits for Miss Molly. I will share those soon!
We ended our weekend with a wonderful dinner at my parents house. It's great to have a mama's meal every once in a while. My brother Sam came over to eat too! We enjoyed our delicious meal of pork strips and fried rice followed by the yummiest peach buckle with vanilla ice cream. Molly may or may not of had a tiny bite of icecream. The gym is begging me to come visit. My goal is atleast 3 times this week. We will see!
It's suppose to be 90 degrees by Wednesday!
Stay cool everybody :-)
